Lifeline can reduce the cost of eligible phone or internet service for households meeting income or qualifying-program criteria.

How Lifeline eligibility works

The FCC states that applicants may qualify through participation in programs such as Medicaid, SNAP, SSI, Federal Public Housing Assistance or Veterans and Survivors Pension Benefit, or by meeting an income test at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
